how to get rid of milia

White bumps or white seeds that is usually seen in a new born babies are most likely called milia seeds. It is a white bump usually filled with keratin build up. In new born it can easily fade or go away without any treatment, after a few weeks or months.

Even Dermatologist cannot say the main reason why people develop milia. In most cases, Milia can be seen under the eyes, cheek, eye lids and forehead. It is quite annoying if you have this on your face especially if you are a woman who actually loves putting on makeup because most of the times, even foundation cannot cover it.

I, unfortunately, develop milia when I was 16 years old up until when I was 26. Imagine the nightmare that I need to go through everyday because of this little bumps scattered all around my eyes and forehead.
Please take note that mine is not an acute type of milia, I might consider it as a severe case. If I will to count them, I think it is around 200 pieces or more. I have them removed by a GP when I was 21 years old. Most of the  big ones was removed (pricked by a needle and the keratin inside was extracted)  the small ones was left in my face because the doctor said that it is very deep in my skin and it is really hard for them to remove. I went home that day a little disappointed having the thought That I might be needing to deal with this stubborn milia for the rest of my life. A few months after my Milia removal procedure those stubborn bumps returned and it is a lot more than it was before the procedure.

I tried using retin-a for years And Yes! it did helped me to whiten my face and makes my pores a little tighter but it didn't help me with my milia problem.

I am now 29 years old and I can say that most of my milia seeds went away. I have only a few but I can manage to get rid of it within weeks (I still develop a few once in a while)

Here are the things that actually works for me to get rid of this ugly bumps on my face.

-I wash my face with luke warm water and cetaphil gentle cleanser twice a day.

-I am using celeteque water based moisturizer after I wash my face.

- I am using a lightweight gel type sunscreen in  the morning.
minimum of spf 30 will be great.

-rotating brush cleanser for my face is great help, mine was mary kay skin vigorate, it is cheaper than the other brands but works wonder in keeping the face thoroughly clean.

- twice a week I expoliate my face using a home made scrub.
I just mix oats and honey and rub it all over the face. leave it for 5 minutes and wash it off.

-take 1 capsule of fish oil everyday together with low fat and oil less food. Some says that the white thing inside the milia seed is also a cholesterol build up. (I believed this also helped me in getting rid of those bad boy)

-Used derma roller for atleast once a week. I used a 0.5mm needle size. It will sting a little bit but it will be worth it.

-After using derma roller apply your good serum. Mine was vitamine E serum (just a local brand)

Expect that your milia will be gone in a couple of months. week by week it will be lesser and lesser,  that will be in my case because I do have a lot. But, if you have just a couple of milia it will be gone in no time.

disclaimer : I am not a doctor nor an expert. I am not saying that if it worked for me it will work for you too. But, there is no harm in trying since most of the things that I did to get rid of my milia is mostly not medicinal.

Thank you and Good luck.
